This atmospheric sensor module is designed by Sparkfun based on the Bosch IC sensor BME280. The Bosch BME280 is a game changing all in one environmental/weather sensor with temperature, barometric pressure and humidity measurement capabilities. Basically, anything you need to know about atmospheric conditions (indoor – outdoor) you can find out from this small module.  

The humidity sensor provides an extremely fast response time and high overall accuracy over a wide temperature range with ±3% accuracy. The pressure sensor is an absolute barometric pressure sensor with high accuracy of ±1 hPa. The pressure sensor can be also used for measuring altitude over sea level with ±1 meter accuracy. The integrated temperature sensor can be used for measuring ambient temperature with ±1.0°C accuracy. 

The sensor provides both SPI and I²C interfaces For simple easy wiring, go with I2C. If you want to connect a bunch of sensors without worrying about I2C address collisions, go with SPI. Applications is not limited to weather forecasting, HVAC, home automation, fire protection systems, hazards storage area monitoring and medical space environment watching.
